The NHNLA Proof of Continuing Education Form and course completion certificate, copy of course agenda, or other documentation that indicates the topics covered in the training and the number of training hours completed must be submitted with the NHNLA Application for Recertification for all continuing education submissions.

    • Homeless Counseling
    • Rental Counseling
    • Home Equity Conversion Mortgage (HECM) Counseling
    • Disaster Victims Counseling
    • Homebuyer Education Programs
    • Fair Lending and Mortgage Fraud Counseling

Examples of acceptable sources of continuing education outside of the NHNLA may include:

  • Community colleges or universities
  • Enterprise Community Partners, Inc.
  • Fannie Mae
  • Freddie Mac
  • Local Initiatives Support Corporation
  • Local financial institutions or real estate associations
  • Local or state counseling coalitions
  • Mortgage Bankers Association
  • National Association of Realtors®
  • National HUD intermediaries
  • State housing finance agencies
  • U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development
  • Other sources may be accepted on a case-by-case basis.
